Entrepreneurship Programmes Coordinator Trento Rise Trento, Italy


Trento Rise Association is looking for an Entrepreneurship Programmes Coordinator, in support to the Business Area of Trento Rise for activities related to planning and executing international programmes in which Trento Rise is involved. Such programmes involve close relationship with entrepreneurs and professional investors, as well as incubators both private and institutional.

Trento Rise Association was established on 10 December 2010 by its Founding Members the University of Trento and the Bruno Kessler Foundation. Trento Rise Association seeks to contribute to the creation of a centre of excellence for research, innovation and advanced training in the field of Information and Communications Technology in the Province of Trento. In particular, the Association intends to contribute to the success of the international non-profit association “EIT ICT Labs”, in which it participates as an associate partner, in order that it may become the new European system for research, innovation and advanced training in ICT. It also intends to promote integration between the various parties operating in the Province of Trento Research System (in particular, the University and Research Centres) within the ICT sector. In this regard, it promotes cooperation between the research sector and businesses aimed at transferring knowledge with a view to facilitating the internationalisation and innovation of companies and of the Province of Trento.

EIT ICT Labs is one of the first three Knowledge and Innovation Communities (KICs) selected by the European Institute of Innovation & Technology (EIT) to accelerate innovation in Europe. EIT is a new independent community body set up to address Europe's innovation gap. It aims to rapidly emerge as a key driver of EU’s sustainable growth and competitiveness through the stimulation of world-leading innovation. EIT ICT Labs is EIT’s KIC for the Information Society. We breed entrepreneurial ICT top talent by transforming higher education towards promoting innovation and entrepreneurial spirit. Our Co-location Centres and mobility programmes help bring people from different countries, disciplines and organisations together. Our goal is to bring more innovation in the domain of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) to market. To reach this goal we connect excellent European organisations in Education, Research and Industry to speed up innovation.

General requirements

The person will work inside Trento Rise (www.trentorise.eu), core partner of the Italian node of the EIT ICT Labs (www.eitictlabs.eu). His/her goal will be to participate in planning and designing, as well as to execute operatively, international programmes involving entrepreneurs, start-up companies, business angels, venture capitalists and institutional partners related to business and education (e.g. chambers of commerce, universities, public incubators, and similar).

The ideal candidate has 2 to 5 years of working experience on tasks related to at least a few of the following: project management, entrepreneurship programmes, international programmes, event planning and content definition, networking and lobbying, business development, ICT technology assessment, ICT market assessment. He/she is at ease with working in a small dynamic and horizontal team, taking on tasks at all levels – from partners’ coordination to day-by-day execution – depending on the team’s needs. He/she is a sociable person with outstanding personal communication skills, self-motivated and motivating, animated by can-do attitude, capable of relating in a natural way to top management of business and institutional partners, respectful of deadlines and capable of managing stress.

The person will work in the New Business Creation team of the Trento Rise Business and Innovation Area, and will report to the Business Development Manager.

Duty of the post

  • Assume such duties and responsibilities appropriate to the appointment as may be assigned to him/her by the Business Development Manager and the Business Director of Trento Rise;
  • Work closely with the New Business Creation team members;
  • Manage international entrepreneurship programmes, including also EU Support Actions and similar;
  • Participate in writing and planning projects related to international cooperation programmes for new businesses, investor relations, technology transfer, young entrepreneurs, and similar;
  • Coordinate partners of such international programmes, both from the office (telephone,online presence) and in person (travels forecast: not more than 10% of time);
  • Develop a network of key relationships in these programmes, both at national and international level, with specific focus on prospective strategic partners and prospective incubation of start-ups by Trento Rise;
  • Define the content and structure of educational business-related programmes in Trento targeted at young technological talents, including: planning the communication together with Trento Rise Communication Area, planning the rollout of the programme, organising educational and business-related activities, running the programme;
  • Define the content and structure of welcoming activities in Trento for incoming international entrepreneurs, investors and technology talents, including coordination of local partners for lodging, visa, local transportation, and other services as needed;
  • Define the content of events and meetings as needed inside the international programmes and moderate such meetings (including venture camps, pitching events, webinars, one-to-one exclusive meetings, and similar);
  • Prepare reports and present results as appropriate.

Criteria for assessment

Education, experience and achievements

Essential criteria
  • Bachelor and/or Master Degree (Laurea Triennale, BA, BS, MSc, Laurea Quadriennale, Laurea Specialistica, or Laurea Magistrale) in Business, Innovation Management, Political Science, Communication Science, Computer Science, or related areas;
  • At least 2 years of experience in a combination of the following: project management, entrepreneurship programmes, international programmes, event planning and content definition, business development;
  • Excellent communication and team-working skills;
  • Fluency in English and Italian.
Desirable criteria
  • Experience in ICT technology assessment and ICT market assessment;
  • Passionate about technological start-ups;
  • Passionate about ICT (mobile, internet, social networks, data management, artificial intelligence, and similar);
  • International work experience, preferably in:
    • organising events and in managing informal communities; o interacting with public bodies and European institutions;
    • familiarity with European funding programmes.
Fluent in a language of one of the following countries: Albania, Bosnia & Herzegovina,, Croatia, FYRO Macedonia, Greece, Hungary, , Montenegro, Romania, Serbia, Slovenia.

Type of contract and terms of employment

The contract type and remuneration level will be commensurate with the candidate’s qualifications and experience. The hours of work are such hours as are necessary to carry out the duties of the post.
