Geotechnical Business Unit Manager (Canberra, Australia)

About the Opportunity
Coffey Geotechnics has had a strong presence in Canberra for over 15 years. With some long term, key business relationships in place, a proven track record of delivery, it is now time for Coffey Geotechnics ACT to lead the way in this local market and reach its true potential.  

Reporting to the Service Line Manager of NSW/ACT, this position and office has unprecedented support and guidance from our Head Office in Sydney. With over 120 Coffey technical professionals in the region to seek assistance and advice from, and a state manager committed to providing mentoring support, you will have a vast resource of knowledge and expertise to draw upon.

This position requires a balance of independence and collaboration in approach, and will require a high degree of judgement and knowledge of civil engineering works and their associated geotechnical problems.

About You
The opportunity would suit an experienced senior level, geotechnical professional to grow and lead the local business unit in Canberra. As an experienced professional you will also have a flair for business development, growing and leading an engineering team, and an overall passion for strategic business planning.

You will likely be a senior member of a geotechnical team or already leading a team with solid experience in civil and/or geotechnical design analysis and geotechnical investigations ideally gained in a consulting environment. You will hold a civil engineering or engineering geology degree and ideally be a Charted Member with Engineers Australia.

Professionalism and service driven, you will focus on relationship building and geotechnical project delivery. You will have good written and oral communication skills; make responsible decisions on matters assigned and have the ability to prepare comprehensive reports and documentation.
