INTERPOL is now looking for a qualified candidate to serve as Security Coordinator within the Corporate Support Sub-Directorate* in the Executive Directorate for INTERPOL Global Complex for Innovation.

Reporting To: Assistant Director, Corporate Support
Location:IGCI, Singapore**
Duration:  Three-year secondment
Grade:  Grade 4
Security Clearance Level: Enhanced

Under the supervision of the Assistant Director Corporate Support , within the general framework of policies defined by the Executive Directorate Resource Management and in operational supervision of the Assistant Director Security,  the Security Coordinator will effectively implement all appropriate risk management strategies, related to the safety and security, and the protection of staff, visitors and assets within the IGCI. Specifically, he/she will be responsible for the management, implementation and oversight of all security operations in support of staff and activities.

Primary Duties

• Manage and coordinate security operations ensuring that security procedures are implemented and followed in line with INTERPOL standards and SOPs developed with the Government of Singapore;
• Coordinate all emergency/crisis management assets providing a timely and coherent response to incidents as they arise;
• Liaise with the appointed officials from the Singaporean Government to ensure that all relevant security information is disseminated in a timely manner to the appropriate offices, their staff and other stakeholders as required, including security and threat assessments;
• Develop a working relationship with personnel and a comprehensive working knowledge of our clients Security system;
• Work closely with the Assistant Director Security to develop an effective security plan to support operations;
• Manage a team of outsourced security guards that will act within the IGCI premises teams;
• Coordinate with the Singaporean police Force with regards to the external security to be provided to IGCI;
• Assist in the design and implementation of project related security strategies, security policies/standards and establish a concrete course of action for their implementation and review;
• Liaise with the Security Sub directorate to ensure that training procedures and policies are implemented within the project to an acceptable standard;
• As required and in coordination with the AD Security and AD Corporate Support, manage administrative, logistic and budgetary issues related to safety and security programs/procedures;
• Carry out all other duties as may be required by the hierarchy.

Requirements
All candidates will be assessed on the under mentioned requirements.
Education
• Solid military or police academy qualifications with a focus on security and related operations.
Experience
• At least 7 years of progressively responsible experience in security operations and information management in a police or military environment;
• Proven operational unit or sub-unit command, staff and leadership experience required;
• Experience in management;
• Experience in the training of security personnel.

Languages
• Fluency in written and spoken English.

Technical Competencies
• Ability to address publicly small and large group of people;
• Managerial competencies;
• Knowledge in the field of security in general and close protection in particular;
• Availability;
• Good physical condition;
• Ability to make decision in crisis situations.
In addition to the requirements, the following Assets and Special Aptitudes would be beneficial.
• Knowledge of French will be an asset.

Working Conditions
• This post is to be filled on the basis of a secondment.
• Remuneration: INTERPOL does not pay salary to seconded officials. Depending on the nationality of the official, an expatriation allowance may be paid for a maximum period of six years. • This post requires occasional travel on missions, sometimes of a long duration and at short notice.
• The incumbent will be occasionally required to work irregular hours or overtime based upon workload.
