UTZ Certified is headquartered in Amsterdam and works closely with its partner network in Africa, Asia and Latin America. UTZ Certified is looking for a:
Training Specialist
The Field Development department works towards raising the number of farmers working in accordance with the UTZ requirements and vision. You will be responsible for the development and coordination of the UTZ Certified training program in producing countries. You coordinate the development of training curricula and materials. You sustain and develop the trainers’ network and implement master trainings in coordination with key stakeholders. Recognizing the interests of all stakeholders (from farmers to industry, from government to civil society) you are a pragmatic, credible and inspiring promoter of the UTZ Certified training.
Responsibilities:
  • Develop, update and promote the UTZ Certified training curricula and materials
  • Plan and contribute to the implementation capacity for UTZ certification by
    • Providing and arranging master trainings
    • Creating and maintaining a network of (master) trainers
    • Distributing and adjusting relevant tools per region and product
The Training Specialist reports to the Field Development Manager.
Candidate requirements:
  • Experience in developing training curricula and materials to be used in Africa, Asia or Latin America
  • Experience in designing, supervising and evaluating training strategies in an international (development) context
  • Strong knowledge of training methodologies, sustainability, certification schemes and rural development
  • Experience as a trainer of trainers, in adult education, preferably in agriculture
  • Fluency in verbal and written English, proficiency in Spanish and French. Portuguese is an asset
  • Master´s degree and minimum 10 years of relevant working experience
  • Willing to travel regularly (25% of your time)
  • Credible promoter, connector with intercultural skills and able to work with different types of stakeholders (e.g. business, producers, governments)
  • Self-starter and strong initiator within a group
  • Strong communicator, verbal and written
Employment is based upon 36 - 40 hours/week. The position is based in Amsterdam and implies regular travel to producing countries. We can only consider candidates who have a work & residency permit for the Netherlands/EU. Please note that we will check your references at the end of the procedure.
