Description: The departments of Environmental Science and Earth Sciences invite applications for a cross-appointed tenure track position, which will commence August 15, 2013, at the rank of Assistant Professor, subject to final budgetary approval. Priority will be given to entry level candidates.

Duties: The departments currently participate in offering a Bachelor of Science degree with majors in Geology and Environmental Science. The successful applicant will be able to teach introductory and senior level courses in soil science. Ability to also teach courses in one or more of the following subject areas will be an asset: hydrology, hydrogeology, geomorphology, and biogeography.

New faculty are hired into one of two work patterns: teaching/scholarship/service (TSS) or teaching/service (TS). Preference will be given to those applicants expressing interest in the TSS work pattern.

The successful applicant must be qualified to teach in the discipline areas noted above and be involved in course and program development.

Qualifications: A Ph. D. in Soil Science, Surficial Processes, or related areas is required. The successful candidate should have a minimum of one year of teaching experience. A professional designation (e.g., AIA, APEGGA) or eligibility for such is an asset. Applicants interested in the teaching/scholarship/service pattern should have the ability and intent to pursue a research program.
