Audit Project Leader

Come help us write our story; be part of the change.    The Internal Audit Department of Resolute Forest Products appraises the Company's operations as a service to Management and the Board of Directors.

 Reporting to The Senior Manager, Internal Audit the incumbent will perform:   


 Compliance auditing (SOX) 
 • Lead the planning and execution of the Company's internal control testing program. Activities to include documentation and/or review of system documentation, selection of testing samples performance of testing and review of remediation plans. 
 • Integrate SOX programs/procedures to include best practices and latest pronouncements. 
 • Communicate with, and provide support to, the external auditors. 
 • Meet with Department Management, as well as Senior Resolute Management, to review testing strategies, audit results, deficiency ratings and remediation plans.
 • Coordinate the finalization of SOX documentation throughout the process, from planning through reporting.  

 Operational auditing and Other 
 • Train and supervise audit staff. • Plan, perform and summarize the results of auditing assignments. 
 • Identify instances of non-compliance with the Company's policies, guidelines and procedures. 
 • Review the effectiveness and relevance of control processes and systems with a view to optimizing the Company's resources. 
 • Share expertise with department management to assist with implementation of administrative or other procedures. 
 • Carry out special mandates such as investigations related to frauds, conflict of interests, etc.  

 Qualifications 
 • Undergraduate University degree in Administration, option Accounting. 
 • CPA, CA, CMA or CIA designation preferred.  
 • A minimum of four to eight years of experience in auditing or a related field.  
 • Fluency in English and French (oral and written) and excellent writing skills. 
 • Knowledge of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act and Auditing Standard No. 5.  
 • Strong financial accounting background and experience. 
 • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.  
 • Availability to travel at least 25% of the time.  
 • Displays autonomy and good judgment.  
 • Good at analyzing and resolving problems. 
 • Strong interpersonal skills.  
 • Ability to learn and to work as part of a team. 
 • Ability to engage the team by managing upward, as well as downward, fostering an energized and positive environment. 
 • Experience with U.S. publicly registered companies is a definite asset.
