Description: We invite applications for a curriculum developer for a Fitness Appraisal and Lifestyle Counseling course. This advanced course is taught in the personal fitness trainer program.

Course Description: Students will acquire the skills to conduct a fitness and lifestyle appraisal and developing strategies that assist clients with healthy lifestyle changes based on their individual needs, goals and motivation. This course will be based on the Canadian Physical Activity, Fitness & Lifestyle Approach (CPAFLA) protocol as outlined by the Canadian Society for Exercise Physiology (CSEP) and prepares students for the Certified Personal Trainer (CSEP-CPT) certification examinations.

Duties: Design & Development: course outline, lesson plans for classroom and practical delivery, learning activities, supplemental resources, copyright clearance, student assessments, grading rubrics, and liaise with administration as required.
Curriculum development contract period February 1 to June 30, 2013.

Qualifications: Minimum Bachelor degree in a related topic area is required
Certified CSEP-CPT Course Conductor is required
Previous experience with curriculum development is required
Comprehensive knowledge of health, wellness and the fitness industry
Exceptional writing and course design skills
Excellent presentation, interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
Teaching experience in an adult education environment is recommended
Proficiency with Blackboard and other learner based technologies is an asset
