Description: Mount Royal University’s Faculty of Continuing Education is looking for enthusiastic industry professionals who are interested in sharing their knowledge, passion and expertise with other adults. As a part-time instructor, you will also have the opportunity to network with others who share your interests while gaining valuable experience as a subject expert in your field.

Presently, we invite applications for qualified Residential Decorating experts to teach online and face-to-face courses in the Residential Decorating Extension Certificate program. Instructors are contracted on a per course basis and are required to teach during set dates. Teaching opportunities are available in each of the following subject areas:
 Interiors Past & Present
 Materials for Surface Finishes
 Materials for Window Treatments and Soft Furnishings
 Advanced Topics in Residential Decorating

Duties: • Instruction: syllabus development, lesson preparation, course delivery, marking
• An online instructor is required to access the course daily, however there are no predetermined times of
the day an instructor is required to be online. Online instructors must have reliable internet service
throughout the entire period of the course.
• Administration: participate in annual instructor meeting and individual meetings with Program
Coordinator as required. Depending on geographic address of the instructor telephone participation in
meetings will be accommodated.

Qualifications: - Minimum five to eight years experience in the residential decorating industry
- Superior written communication skills
- Professionalism
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Online teaching experience using Blackboard (or similar online learning platform) is an asset
- Previous experience as an online learner is an asset
