Description: The BCN program prepares internationally educated nurses (IENs) for Canadian nursing practice and is offered out of 2 Alberta sites, Alberta South in Calgary and Alberta North in Edmonton. The School of Nursing invites applications for Part-Time Instructors to teach one or more of the following courses at the Alberta North site in Edmonton, Alberta.

School of Nursing Nurse Educator expectations

Duties: Professional Clinical Practice – Four 8 hour days per week for 6 weeks delivered on an acute care nursing unit; Bachelor in Nursing degree required; preference given to candidates with current Medical/Surgical experience.

Professional Nursing Skills – Six hours per week for 5 weeks and delivered in both on line and classroom format; Bachelor in Nursing degree required but Masters degree preferred; preference given to candidates with current Medical/Surgical experience.

Professional Communications for Nurses – Average of 8 hours per week for 6 weeks and delivered in both on line and classroom format; Master of Nursing degree required.

Professional Health Assessment - Average of 8 hours per week for 6 weeks and delivered in both on line and classroom format; Master of Nursing degree required.

Qualifications: Qualifications required for all courses:
Minimum of three years of nursing experience in Canada
Fluency with using computer is essential
Demonstrated ability to work with diverse student populations would be an asset
Capacity to meet the School of Nursing Nurse Educator expectations and MRU contract requirements
