£55,000 - £65,275 p.a. Dependent on experience, skills and knowledge, (Band 7) 

Band 7 extends up to £68,500 and progression through the band will be linked to an individual’s performance and contribution to QAA.
The Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education (QAA) is an independent and authoritative body that protects the quality and academic standards of UK higher education. As well as reviewing universities and colleges and reporting its findings, QAA works in partnership with higher education providers to promote and support improvement across the sector. QAA is driven by the desire to ensure that all students have the best possible educational experience.
Our role is increasingly important at a time when quality and standards are under the spotlight, and students rightly have high expectations of their education.
This is a high profile role that will lead on:
  • managing QAA’s activities with regard to alternative higher education providers, for example private colleges, and other organisations that recruit international students to study in the UK
  • the design, development and implementation of QAA's oversight and accreditation methodologies and review activities.
  • Liaising with relevant agencies, for example: UKBA and BIS.
You will have an extensive knowledge of UK higher education, most likely gained within higher education teaching or administration, or within a professional or regulatory body. You will have a track record of influencing and commanding the respect of senior academic staff in a range of disciplines along with experience of working with national agencies.
To be able to act as an authority and ambassador for QAA on the areas of oversight and accreditation in a dynamic environment is essential.
The post is based at QAA's head office in Gloucester and will involve travel within the UK.  Relocation expenses of up to £8,000 are offered in accordance with QAA’s relocation scheme.
