About the EGA
The EGA is the official representative body of the European generic and biosimilar pharmaceutical industry, which is at the forefront of providing high-quality affordable medicines to millions of Europeans and stimulating competitiveness and innovation in the pharmaceutical sector.
We are currently recruiting a Junior Trade Policy Officer, who will have the following key tasks and responsibilities:
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
  •  Coordinate the activities of the EGA External Markets and Trade Policy Committee;
  •  Monitor developments in the area of trade related to pharmaceuticals and report back to the Committee members;
  •  Organise Committee meetings and conference calls;
  •  Follow closely the evolution of bilateral trade negotiations and regulatory dialogues;
  •  Coordinate advocacy activities in the area of trade policy;
  •  Represent EGA’s positions in meetings with the European Institutions and other stakeholders;
  •  Draft correspondence, reports, records of meetings, background papers, statistical notes, etc.;
  •  Perform research tasks into a variety of trade, industry policy areas related to pharmaceuticals;
  •  Participate in the Market Access Advisory Committee (MAAC) Meetings at DG TRADE;
  •  Participate in the Civil Dialogue meetings at DG TRADE;
  •  Contribute to EGA’s monthly newsletter
  •  Participate in and contribute to other activities as assigned by the supervisor.
Requirements
  •  A university degree in law / economics / politics with a knowledge of applied economics and trade-related policy issues;
  •  A minimum of 1-2 years of prior relevant work experience required;
  • Good knowledge of the EU institutions and a good understanding of the EU trade policy and the EU intellectual property rights policy;
  •  Strong writing and editing skills;
  •  Excellent English language skills, other languages are considered an advantage;
  • Good presentation skills;
  •  Very strong organisational skills;
  •  Excellent communications skills, self-starter, quick thinker, service minded;
  •  Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and similar software.
