Aug 2013 - Learning and Teaching Advisor (Early Years)

Responsibilities
This is a new position which will lead and support our kindergartens in the continuous development of a broad, balanced and relevant curriculum that meets the standards and practices set by the International Baccalaureate (IB) for the Early Years Program (PY).

The jobholder will support the ongoing development and implementation of the PYP in kindergartens, with a particular emphasis on supporting literacy. He or she will work with the Head of CPD in planning and delivering professional development, and will liaise with relevant primary school staff to enable a smooth curriculum transition for students.

Position to commence in August 2013

Requirements
The ideal candidate should:

• be able to promote and foster best practice in Early Years pedagogy
• possess demonstrable experience in supporting and developing literacy in the Early Years
• have experience in a similar position and/or experience in a leadership position in an Early Years setting
• be able to lead and work with teams of different people
• have a comprehensive understanding of the PYP curriculum framework and of current assessment and reporting processes
• be able to identify and support professional development needs
