SENIOR PROGRAM SPECIALIST Ecosystems and Human Health (Ecohealth)

IDRC is looking for two experienced and dynamic professionals for the following senior positions:

SENIOR PROGRAM SPECIALIST

Ecosystems and Human Health (Ecohealth) 

OTTAWA, CANADA and NEW DELHI, INDIA


IDRC’s Ecosystems and Health (Ecohealth) program works with developing-country researchers to help improve human health and ecosystem conditions. The goal is to support developing-country researchers to lead the field of ecohealth to better respond to the challenge of improving human health and environmental conditions in an equitable, sustainable way. 
As a Senior Program Specialist under the guidance of the Program Leader, you will contribute to implementing program strategy and achieving program outcomes by developing, managing and monitoring a portfolio of activities, focused primarily in Africa or Asia.

Among the essential qualifications of the ideal candidates:

•Graduate degree, preferably a Ph.D., and record of publications  in applied research for development 

•A minimum of eight years relevant experience, which includes conducting and managing  research projects in developing regions, from project design to project implementation and evaluating research grant-making

•Must have well developed and specific knowledge about public health matters related to economics, agriculture or environment and related development, governance and policy matters in Africa or Asia


Note: Candidates with less experience (min. of 5 years) may be considered for appointment at the level of Senior Program Officer.
