Head of Finance, India

About the Job: 
Jagdhan Finance and Investment Limited is looking for a Head of Finance. S/he will be part of the senior leadership team and will manage the financial management and reporting of the company. S/he will report to the CEO and to the board of directors as necessary.

Tasks and Responsibilities: 

• Ensure complete compliance with the company’s finance and accounting policies;
• Ensure complete adherence with regulatory requirements on accounting and financial management practices;
• Oversee the maintenance of accounting systems and processes to the highest standard;
• Supervise the accounts staff in the head office and branches, ensure the efficient application of proper accounting standards, lead the account closure activities as applicable;
• Develop and review financial projections of the company on a periodic basis;
• Ensure optimum financial controls in all locations, especially in the handling of cash;
• Support the systems for monitoring and analyzing financial risk in consultation with the risk and internal audit manager of the company;
• Fulfill all statutory and regulatory reporting requirements;
• Manage the general administration of the company, including logistics, asset maintenance, contracting etc.

Qualifications: 

• Qualified accountant: A Master’s degree or equivalent (preferably ACA certified) in Accounting or Finance;
• At least 5 years of professional experience in accounting and reporting, strategic financial planning and management;
• Relevant experience in microfinance is desirable alongside requisite IT skills;
• Experience in a management and leadership role, combined with good team working skills;
• In-depth understanding of the regulatory and legal framework, compliance requirements, and a knowledge of Indian accounting and tax regulations;
• Ability to work effectively with internal and external audit teams;
• Capacity to work under pressure, prioritize multiple tasks, and meet deadlines;
• Rigorous, analytical and organizational skills, and a strong eye for detail and accuracy;
• Expected to demonstrate the highest degree of honesty and integrity at all times.
