Contact info: Peder Apall-Olsen Recruitment Coordinator (+47) 90808818
Khaled Abdel-Fadil Recruitment Adviser NORCAP (+47) 90404920
  1. Protection NORCAP is searching for personnel who have experience in working with protection mainstreaming, child protection, protection coordination, protection cluster information management (P3 and P4), community services and gender based violence. Protection mainstreaming deployments focus on ensuring that 'do no harm' principles are followed in humanitarian programming. The aim is to implement food access, agricultural, nutritional, and livelihood activities in non-discriminatory ways that promote the safety, dignity, and integrity of the people recieving assistance. Equally important is to consider the different needs of women, men, girls and boys. All activities need to be consistent with humanitarian principles.
  2. Housing, Land and Property (HLP) HLP issues arise in every crisis, whether natural disaster or conflict. Poor land use and insecure HLP rights increase negative impacts of natural disasters, particularly for the most vulnerable populations. The occupation of land or property and the destruction of housing are often deliberate strategies during armed conflict. In both cases, forced displacement exposes vulnerable populations to additional risks – loss of homes, livelihoods, and their communities. We are looking for people with experience in resolving challenges related to HLP.
  3. Food Security and Nutrition UN partners (UNICEF & WFP) are searching for personel who have experience in and can operate at the Nutrition and Food Security Cluster Coordination levels. They have experience in Nutrition in Emergency (NiE) and the skills that are normally required in Community Based Management of Acute Malnutrition (CMAM), Infant and Young Child Feeding in Emergency (IIYCF-E), Presentation and Control of Micronutrient Deficiency and Nutrition Surveys.
  4. Cash and Voucher Experts There is a growing recognition in the humanitarian sector that in an emergency, cash transfers and vouchers can be appropriate and effective tools to support populations affected by disasters in a way that maintains dignity and choice for beneficiaries while stimulating local economies and markets. People with experience in coordination, design, implementation and monitoring of humanitarian/development projects and programmes are needed.
  5. Disaster Risk Reduction DRR specialists are expected to support UN activities and capacity development for DRR during all phases of the disaster cycle: preparedness, emergency response, and early recovery. The most important fields in which DRR specialists will be expected to work include, but are not limited to: early recovery, DRR policy and planning, and institution development, climate change (as a risk multiplier for disasters), coordination and management, building, construction and settlements.
You are able to apply the cluster approach guidelines and tools, and to operate in a complex environment. Your long experience has prepared you to work with a range of different target groups at different levels: community based groups, organisations local to regional, national authorities and UN organisations.
