PR manager – Malaysia Agoda - Kualalumpur


The Public Relations Manager will work as part of the regional team to create a positive image and enhance the reputation of Agoda.com to new and existing users, the general public, partners and shareholders. He or she will seek opportunities through online and traditional media to enhance exposure for the international brand, positioning agoda.com as the leading online hotel reservations service in the region.  Participation in the enhancement and promotion of website content will also be a core responsibility.

Roles & Responsibilities:-
  • Strengthen and grow Agoda.com’s solid list of media contacts and key third party influencers
  • Some responsibility for translation, verification and distribution of company B2B and B2C press releases and other materials.
  • Organize and participate in travel related media events, representing Agoda to generate new contacts and cultivate existing media contacts.
  • Drive and contribute to social media initiatives.
  • Identify and execute PR opportunities for Agoda.com in print, radio, TV and online media channels.
  • Actively participate in intra-regional PR projects and assignments.
  • Maintain a forward editorial schedule for all company PR materials and activities within the Thailand market.
  • Assist in writing press releases and other articles.
  • Regular screening of web site content quality.
  • Make recommendations and support content projects including but not limited to site re-design, special promotional pages, and site localization.
  • Translation work as required.
  • General site improvement activities.   
  • Regular reporting of PR activities and results to the regional team (which may or may not be limited to weekly summary of clippings generated, contact reports, etc).
  • Generate strategic recommendations based on and up to date knowledge of the media landscape within the Thai travel industry.
  • Report on competitor activities and identify media trends.
  • Liaise between hotels and the media to maximize media relations opportunities.

Desired Skills & Experience

  • Malaysian National.
  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Excellent English communication skills.
  • Experience working in PR at a multinational organization preferred.
  • Agency and/or hotel PR experience required.
  • Strong interest in travel, with knowledge of the online environment, social media savvy.
  • Ability to self-manage, multi-task and communicate effectively within the regional team as well as with external agencies and individuals.
  • Able to work under pressure to tight deadlines to achieve department goals.
  • KPI driven, with a strong will to succeed.
  • Creative thinker, with a proven ability in applying inventive solutions to PR strategies.
