Save the Children UK Humanitarian HR Adviser


Save the Children is the world’s independent children’s charity. In recent years we have we have seen a dramatic increase in natural disasters and conflicts, with children often some of the worst affected. The need for large scale, independent emergency humanitarian responses is sadly greater than ever.
In the past five years, our emergency humanitarian work across the world has dramatically increased. In the past year emergency work represented around half of all Save the Children UK charitable work and we are committed to continuing to grow both the scale and impact of our work in the coming years.
Save the Children UK’s Humanitarian Department is structured around three pillars; capacity building & preparedness, emergency response and support (HR, Finance & Admin). The Humanitarian HR Adviser sits in the Human Resources Unit reporting to the Head of Humanitarian HR. This role will support Human Resources for the Emergencies Response Personnel (ERP) Team, our Intern & Trainee programmes and any additional surge support.
You role will be deliver a high quality generalist HR service to the Humanitarian Department. This role will focus on identifying, supporting and retaining good quality humanitarian personnel for our global humanitarian operations.
We see you as bringing to Save the Children experience of delivering a generalist HR service, with strong interview and assessment techniques and a good understanding of employment law. Ideally you will have experience of distance management and work with other cultures.
