Radio 2 is the UK’s most listened to radio station providing a range of programmes across varied musical genres, popular culture and entertainment. The output includes high profile and specialist presenters as well as speech and event production.  Radio 2 is a 24 hour/7 day a week network. Therefore the successful candidate could be expected to work outside normal office hours. 

Role

Broadcast Assistants provide comprehensive production support to Assistant Producers, Producers and Editors and generally work across a range of programmes in a flexible manner. The range of work includes administrative and music reporting duties, studio support, simple technical operations, basic search and briefs within Editorial Policy guidelines plus multi-media support. Requirements

You will need to have enthusiasm and interest in music-based radio output and good knowledge on news, current affairs and popular culture. You will need the ability to use operational and administrative systems, particularly SAP. You will need to have a good knowledge of radio production and web maintenance techniques and familiarity with digital platforms and reference source. A good understanding of relevant rights/copyrights and their associated cost implications and a good knowledge of reference sources is required. You will also need to be competent at using technical equipment used in radio production and have an aptitude for operation of equipment under transmission pressures. Good team working and interpersonal skills are essential.
