Within Queen Mary, the School of Biological and Chemical Sciences is a large and expanding academic unit, which provides a supportive and friendly environment and encourages interdisciplinary research, and intends to build on its recent RAE success and its rapid expansion in both staff and student numbers.
We seek to appoint a candidate who will contribute to the delivery of high-quality teaching, scholarship and administration in the School of Biological and Chemical Sciences.
The post-holder will:
  • Contribute to the organisation, delivery of courses and the assessment of student achievement
  • Undertake administrative and other duties of a member of academic staff, and as agreed with the Head of School.
Applicants should have an Undergraduate degree or Postgraduate degree and/or relevant professional qualification and/or equivalent professional experience.
Applicants must have appropriate subject knowledge and have the ability to teach at any level within the area of expertise and across a range of subjects at a more introductory level.
This is a full-time, fixed term post available for 2 years. The salary scale will be in the range of £38,197- £47,559 per annum inclusive of London Allowance. Salary will be according to qualifications, skills and experience.  Benefits include 30 days annual leave, defined benefit pension scheme and interest-free season ticket loan.
Candidates must be able to demonstrate their eligibility to work in the UK in accordance with the Immigration, Asylum and Nationality Act 2006. Where required this may include entry clearance or continued leave to remain under the Points Based Immigration Scheme.
