Project Assistant (Data Management and Logistics)

The Centre for European Studies (CES) is the political foundation of the European People’s Party (EPP). The CES embodies a pan-European mindset, promoting Christian Democrat, conservative and like-minded political values. It serves as a framework for national political foundations linked to member parties of the EPP, with 26 foundations currently members. Established under the EU Regulation (EC) No. 1524/2007 of the European Parliament and of the Council on the regulations governing political parties at European level and the rules regarding their funding, the CES is an organisation that offers the unique opportunity to join an energetic team which lays the groundwork for the foundation’s ambitious plan of action.

The CES is currently looking for a dynamic, motivated and innovative individual to fill the position of a Project Assistant, based in Brussels. The CES will offer a temporary contract terminating at the end of 2014 to a successful candidate.

Key responsibilities:

  • Assist in the organisation of events, including content definition, drafting programmes, logistical coordination, etc.;
  • Data and Customer Relationship Management system coordination and collecting relevant information from all areas of European politics;
  • Participate in the production of publications, including advising on the content and structure, coordinating the writing process with the authors, ensuring that the publications meet high quality standards, liaising with publishing and printing houses;
  • Contribute to CES projects and the communication of their results;
  • Assist and support in the preparation and drafting reports, briefings and presentations;
  • Review, edit and proofread texts for both language and content;
  • Liaise with EU officials and relevant networks.

Candidate requirements:

  • University degree in political science, social sciences, law, economics or related disciplines;
  • Excellent written and oral command of English (native speaker or equivalent level); knowledge of an additional language will be considered an asset;
  • Good analytical and organisational skills;
  • Experience in the use of data management software and/or Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems considered an asset;
  • Ability to prioritise work and deliver under pressure;
  • Sound knowledge of European and international politics and familiarity with the history and the tradition of the Christian Democrat, conservative and like-minded political parties of the EPP family;
  • Committed and flexible team player, able to work in a multinational environment.
