Senior Warehouse Officer

AngloGold Ashanti (AGA) is the world's third largest gold producer with 20 operations in 10 countries on four continents.   AGA employs over 62,000 people globally.  In Australia, AGA operates the Sunrise Dam Gold Mine and is developing the Tropicana Gold Mine in which it has a 70% interest and is manager.  Independence Group NL holds the remaining 30%.  The Sunrise Dam and Tropicana operations are both situated in WA.

We are now seeking a Senior Warehouse Officer to join our Legal, Commercial and Supply Chain team on a FIFO 8/6 roster from Perth or Kalgoorlie.

Accountable to the Warehouse Coordinator, this role is responsible for providing assistance to the Warehouse Coordinator in delivering an efficient warehousing service to the mine site and to monitor inventories to ensure uninterrupted operations.

The main tasks of the role include:           

• Assist the Warehouse Coordinator as his 2IC, in overseeing and development of Warehousing functions to achieve industry best practise
• Assist in the management of Health & Safety in the supply section
• Inventory end of month procedures
• Ensure warehouse stock levels are maintained at appropriate level
• Issuing and receiving of inventory to and from the warehouse
• Provide SAP MM advice and training to site users
• Loading/unloading trucks when required
• Consult and work closely with providers of specialist supply services located offsite to ensure cost effective and timely delivery of supply
• Manage established inventory system to ensure data accuracy
• General housekeeping of warehouse

The ideal candidate will possess:

• 2-3 years experience as a Senior Warehouse Officer
• Mining experience essential
• Ability to supervise staff
• Exposure and solid understanding of SAP
• A strong work ethic
• Ability to build effective relationships internally and externally
• Forklift license
• Current WA Drivers Licence
• Able to work FIFO, 8/6 roster
