Padrino Program Coordinator

The overall mission of the NGO NiƱos de Guatemala (NDG) is to help build a better future for Guatemala. NDG aims to do this through providing Guatemalan disadvantaged children and adults with education and opportunities to develop themselves. To achieve this NDG consists of: 1) The School  ́Nuestro Futuro’, in Ciudad Vieja, and the school ‘El Porvenir’ in San Lorenzo el Cubo 2) the Fundraising and Development Department (FDD) in Antigua and 3) the NGO as the umbrella organization. To continue its mission, the FDD of NDG is looking for a new Padrino Program Coordinator for 40 hours per week.
Job Description
The Padrino Program is a sponsorship program through which donors can support a child’s education. The Padrino Program is an integral part of the fundraising department: it ensures the future development of the schools and provides a significant portion of the operations budget of each school. The Coordinator manages all communication and administration concerning the Padrino Program. This includes actively engaging existingpadrinos as well as expanding and promoting the program both locally and internationally. The Coordinator also supervises the Program Assistant. The Coordinator reports directly to the Operations Manager of the FDD.
Responsibilities
-             Create and maintain a consistent, motivational, and engaging correspondence with the padrinos
-             Translate and moderate all communications between the padrinos and the children
-             Actively promote and constantly expand the Padrino Program as a key fundraising tool for NDG
-             Maintain meticulously accurate and professional administration for the program, including payments
Requirements
-             Strong communication skills
-             Fluency in English required and in Spanish preferred (both written and oral)
-             Demonstrated commitment to providing excellent customer service
-             Previous experience in fundraising, database management, or communications preferred
-             Excellent computer skills (Excel, Word, internet/email)
-             Ability to envision and execute projects independently
-             Dedication to NDG’s mission and oriented to its goals
-             Ability to handle stress and manage several projects at once
-             Interested and capable of working in an international environment
