Prevention Coordinator

AIDS Healthcare Foundation is currently seeking a Full-Time Prevention Coordinator to work in our Public Health Division. The salary range is $16.00-18.00/hr based on experience. We operate 7 days a week including weekends and holidays.

Duties & Responsibilities
Includes the following:

Healthy Relationships Program:
- Assist Lead Facilitator with Healthy Relationship session preparation activities.
- Assist program tailoring and adaptation.
- Facilitate participant discussion in accordance with session curriculum.
- Assist in building participant group cohesion, and handling emotional participant issues and behaviors.

Administrative assistance includes, but not limited to:
- Copying, compiling and organizing training materials, ordering supplies, promotional and marketing materials, and incentive purchasing.
- Reports regularly to the POL Program Manager and MWC Senior Program Manager regarding scope of work, staff issues, services offered and program development.
- Attends and participates in trainings necessary to compliment this positions scope of work and/or those trainings identified by the POL Program Manager and MWC Senior Program Manager.
- Attends other department meetings as needed.

Education and/or Experience
4 year college degree or equivalent combination of experience and/or education.

Computer/Software Skills & Abilities
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of MS Office and Word Processing software.

Language Skills
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of clients and/or employees of organization.

Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Other Skills & Abilities/Qualifications
Must be able to travel 30-50 % of the time scheduled.
Must be able to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends if needed.
Sensitivity to the issues surrounding HIV/AIDS.
Skill in communicating openly on sexual topics without prejudice.
Multi-lingual skills are a plus but not necessary for consideration.

Certificates, Licenses and Registrations
Certification as an HIV Pre and Post Testing Counselor is a plus, but not necessary for consideration.
Valid California drivers license with proof of liability insurance.
