Senior Programme Manager, Economics & Finance

The World Economic Forum is an independent international organization committed to improving the state of the world by engaging business, political, academic and other leaders of society to shape global, regional and industry agendas.

Incorporated as a not-for-profit foundation in 1971 and headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland, the Forum is tied to no political, partisan or national interests.

As a result of the successful growth of our organization, we are now searching for a:

SENIOR PROGRAMME MANAGER ECONOMICS & FINANCE
PROGRAMME DEVELOPMENT TEAM
GLOBAL LEADERSHIP FELLOW

The Programme Development Team is responsible for the agendas of the Forum’s flagship events – the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting in Davos-Klosters, Switzerland, and the Annual Meeting of the New Champions in the People’s Republic of China – which gather world leaders from business, politics, the media and civil society to address the most relevant and pressing challenges on the global, regional and industry agendas.

In your role, you will identify trends and ideas related to economics and finance, and translate them into cutting-edge sessions. To that end, you will use and improve the Forum’s extensive network of thought leaders from global universities, think tanks and research institutes in relevant fields. You will also work closely with internal teams representing industries, governments and civil society. Much like a curator, you will identify the most relevant issues, construct compelling narratives and creatively combine a range of technologies, tools and formats to stimulate thinking and debate.

We expect you to exhibit demonstrated leadership capabilities, as well as a deep understanding of major developments in contemporary economics and finance. You possess a broad intellectual background with at least a Master’s degree (or equivalent). You have a minimum of five years’ professional experience in a relevant government, multilateral, business or not-for-profit organization, including strategy consulting, financial services and think tanks. You have strong drafting and synthesizing skills and the ability to communicate complex information. You are a service-oriented team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, willing to work in a highly demanding environment. Fluency in English is a must; another language would be an asset.
