CREDIT RISK OFFICER - Analytics (1 POSITION)

Officers (2 positions) to join the Technology and Operations team based in Dar es Salaam. The successful applicants will be allocated to Head Office
Reporting Line:Manager Analytics and MIS (Credit Risk)

Location:Dar es Salaam, Head Office

Work Schedule:As per TPB Staff regulations

Salary:TPB 7
Position Objective:-

·                    To provide end to end management information (MI) and analytics support to all lending stakeholders by mean of extracting, collating, manipulating and interrogating data from various data sources.

·                    To design effective data solutions in order to support business in making informed business decisions.

Key Responsibilities:-

(i)                 Participate in data extractions from various sources according to specified business product and segmentation requirements in support of meeting business stakeholder information needs.

(ii)               Network and interact with the IT teams and other business areas Management Information (MI) teams on a weekly to monthly basis, depending on the frequency of updates to ensure continued understating of the data elements that are available within TPB.

(iii)             Communicate with Manager; MIS and analytics, IT and system developers on how to obtain the necessary systems knowledge and access to source new and existing data that is required to produce the business MI.

(iv)              Engage with business stakeholders to gather the required format for data / information and then develop the data output info formats requested, examples may be but not limited to Flat files, CS V's (comma-separated values), Access Tables, Excel, etc.

(v)                Design and build processes in the extractions to ensure that the correct data is extracted and reported. Ensure that there are no duplications, correct business segmentation, and correct product business rules are used.

(vi)              Ensure quality and reliability of all data used in reports.

(vii)            Develop report on the monthly delinquency constructs vintages and roll rates for each credit portfolio.

(viii)          Compile the needed monthly and quarterly credit report for Credit Portfolio Review Committee and TPB Board of Directors, .

(ix)              Conduct business analytics and develop reports on any matters determined by Manager; MIS and Analytics.


Contributes To:-

(i)              Managing the bank's loan portfolio by providing useful insights from data analysis.

(ii)            Minimization of Credit Risk by helping design and implement risk identification techniques and

aide in proposing the mitigation strategies.

(iii)           Improving the quality of our data by ensuring close follow up on what information is being

captured and how is it being stored.
Key Performance Indicators:-

(i)              Accurate and timely generation of portfolio position reports.

(ii)            Contribute positively towards advising for the right collections strategies.
(iii)           Timely analysis of the impact of proposed policy changes.

(iv)          Quality of our loan portfolio data measured by presence and accuracy of the data being captured in the system.
For Grading Purposes - Dimensions:-

(i)              Management Reports are provided on a timely manner.

(ii)            Contributed positively towards collections, acquisition and recovery strategy.

(iii)           Ensure existing models are recalibrated and yield acceptable results.

(iv)          Any other notable contribution across TPB bank at large.
Authority Levels:-

(i)              Any other as delegated upon by the Manager MIS & Analytics.
Experience and Knowledge Required:-
Education:

Bachelor degree in Economics, Business Administration, Operations Research, Statistics, Computer Programming,
Information Technology with a heavy Statistics content.
Experience:

Skills and Attributes:

Strong leadership & people management skills.

High quantitative aptitude.

Team player.
