Borehole Seismic Geoscientist

Description:
The WesternGeco borehole seismic development group is responsible for all borehole seismic processing, modeling, inversion, and imaging applications used worldwide in Schlumberger data processing and interpretation centers. The Borehole Seismic Geoscientist is responsible for the design, development, and delivery of answer products with a focus on determination of formation elastic and transport properties from VSP data.
Responsibilities:
  • Generate prototype methods and techniques to determine elastic properties around the borehole and validate with synthetic and actual data.
  • Use prototypes to determine transport and rock physics properties.
  • Publish achieved results and recommendations internally and externally.
Qualifications:
  • Master’s or PhD degree in physics or geophysics.
  • Familiarity with rock physics and inversion techniques.
  • Good programming skills in C++.
  • Ability to keep an open mind, create innovative solutions, and work well on a team.
