Director, Private Fundraising and Partnerships, D-2

The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), the world’s leading organization working for the rights of children, is seeking a dynamic individual to lead the work of the Private Fundraising and Partnerships office.
The incumbent will lead the private fundraising and partnerships efforts and contribute to the strategic positioning of UNICEF through engagement and partnerships with private individuals, philanthropies, corporate and private businesses. S/he will also manage a complex operation with high risks for the reputation and credibility of UNICEF. Main responsibilities include:
  • Leading the development and implementation of private fund raising and partnership strategies to mobilize private financial resources and support for children through the management of UNICEF’s strategic partnership with 36 National Committees for UNICEF, engagement with corporate partners and private business partners, as well as through private sector fundraising in selected country offices.
  • Driving the implementation and strengthening of a comprehensive approach to engagement with the corporate sector by UNICEF.
  • Advising and assisting the Executive Director and the Deputy Executive Directors on global policy and implementation related to private fundraising and partnership issues.
Qualifications: Advanced university degree in any of the following: Business administration, management or equivalent professional qualifications in a relevant field.
Experience: At least 15 years of relevant international and/or developing country experience, including at global levels. Demonstrated leadership skills in managing large/complex teams, including operating in complex "matrix" structures.
Languages: Fluency in English. Working knowledge of other UN languages will also be an asset.
