Accounts and Procurement plays a key role within the School, reporting into the Treasurer and Associate Dean, Operations and is responsible to the Finance Committee, Audit and Risk Committee and Investment Committee. Its varied responsibilities include: strategic planning and analysis, the provision of management information and business partnering, working capital management, central services and transaction processing, corporate governance and compliance, and procurement.
The Finance Director will lead a large team which takes responsibility for the School’s £100M annual operating budgets and results, its significant investment budgets, providing financial stability, strong internal control, and efficient and effective allocation of resources and management of risk to deliver a strategic plan built around expansion and underpinned by excellence.
Candidates will need to be a graduate and qualified accountant, with membership of an appropriate professional body.  S/he will preferably have trained with one of the big four accounting firms,  gained substantial experience in a corporate or professional services environment, worked for an SME and have  significant experience of managing a large team during a period of growth and associated change. S/he will also need to be capable of working within an organisation that has a complex legal group structure.
