Programme Funding Coordinator, Trusts and Foundations
(Internal title: Resource Development Coordinator)

Transparency International (TI) is the global civil society organisation leading the fight against corruption. Through more than 100 chapters worldwide and an international secretariat in Berlin, Germany, TI raises awareness of the damaging effects of corruption and works with partners in government, business and civil society to develop and implement effective measures to tackle it. 

The Resource Development Department’s mission is to provide fundraising leadership at the TI Secretariat, including securing unrestricted funding, assisting regional and other department’s efforts to raise programmatic and project funds and to offer fundraising technical support, advice, and training to colleagues. We sit at the centre of the organisation, having strong relationships with all of the regional, thematic, research, communications and support teams. 

Main function: The Programme Funding Coordinator for Trusts and Foundations is responsible for providing leadership on this donor file and secure programmatic and project funding from this target
Starting date: 1 December 2013 (negotiable) 
Duration: Limited for 2 years with the possibility of extension
Location: TI-Secretariat, Berlin, Germany
Department: Resource Development Department (RDD)
Reporting lines: Resource Development Manager
Job grade: III 

Responsibilities: 
The Programme Funding Coordinator works closely with and reports to the Resource Development Manager for Institutional Donors. Focusing on trusts and foundations (US, European and other foundations, trusts, lotteries and others) the selected candidate will:

• Be responsible for building new relationships and stewardship of institutional relationships with a wide range of trusts and foundations
• Oversee and coordinate the TI-Secretariat relationship with these partners
• Identify and research donor opportunities for TI programmes, projects contributing to programmes, and other TI deliverables
• Advise and assist TI colleagues, and at times lead, on project design, proposal development and contract negotiations 
• Support TI-Secretariat departments and Chapters’ fundraising and provide specialist expertise to help raise capacity and capability
• Support the exchange of learning and expertise within a community of fundraising practice across TI-Secretariat and the TI network of over 100 National Chapters around the world 
• Contribute to other RDD deliverables, including the work of colleagues working on other donor files, particularly bilateral donors 

Knowledge, experience and skills:
• University degree or professional qualification in International Relations, Political, Economic or Social Science Disciplines or other relevant fields
• Minimum five year experience in fundraising, project development, proposal writing and contract negotiations with a focus on trusts and foundations
• Demonstrated capacity to raise a high level of funds from trusts and foundations
• Proven work experience with and in-depth understanding of donor funding procedures, rules and regulations
• Good understanding of programme design approaches (logical frameworks at minimum)
• Capable of working under pressure and against deadlines
• Excellent communication, impeccable presentation and strong networking skills
• Complete fluency in written and spoken English is essential; other European languages (particularly Spanish and/or French) are an asset
