The Position

Purpose:

This role is accountable for providing landscaping and analytical input to develop 

strategic and operational plans for delivering on the gRED ITGR (Immunology, 

Ophthalmology, Neuroscience, Cardiovascular, Metabolism, and Infectious Disease) 

portfolio. The Clinical Development Liaison is responsible for identifying, developing, 

and maintaining relationships with the North American internal & external partners to 

support the needs of the Early Development clinical pipeline.

Principal Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

• Provide therapeutic area landscaping and scientific/technical input as needed for 

the development of program strategy:

o Epidemiology, standards of care, regulatory intelligence, molecule 

landscaping, internal & external clinical trial landscaping, early 

development trends, etc.

• Provide analytical input as needed for the development of program and study 

operational planning:

o Disease Area Strategy support, Functional Review body support, 

enrolment workshops, country & site selection support, historical analysis 

& projections

• Curate and maintain a central intelligence repository of previous trials and 

analyses that could be leveraged for CDP planning:

o Landscaping analyses, historical enrolment, best practices and lessons 

learned, generic patient and vendor costs, etc.

• Build and maintain external partnership intelligence for use across gRED and 

wider functions: 

o Leverage global Roche relationships with partners and collaborators 

o Provide transparency into and ensure continuity of external collaborations 

across the lifecycle (Therapeutic Area Experts, Investigator site, 

Regulatory intelligence, etc.). 

• In alignment with the other Regional Strategy Leads, develop a North American 

strategy for partnership development and relationship maintenance across the 

clinical development life cycle 

o Develop and maintain a network of external early development capabilities 

(TAEs, alliances, Center of Excellence, etc.) aligned with the needs of the 

current and emerging portfolio. 

o Conduct and coordinate high-level assessments of site capabilities and 

support for the optimization of these relationships. 

o Manage relationships with Roche affiliates in the North America regions. 

o Act as liaisons to broker relationships between North American TAEs and 

Clinical Science Interact with MSLs and GMA within North America to 

gain insight into global product strategies and implications for the study 

portfolio.

• Participate in or lead Clin Ops initiatives as Clinical SMEs and support other 

organizational activities as needed.

Education and Experience Required:

• Life Science degree and/or MBA or equivalent experience. 

• Advanced degree in the Life Sciences or Business highly desirable. 

• At least 10 years clinical development experience, with deep therapeutic 

expertise in one or more areas.

• Experience developing successful relationships that support the business 

preferred (TAEs, alliances, affiliates, vendors, patient groups, etc.).

Skills and Competencies Required:

• Broad knowledge across the drug development lifecycle.

• Deep therapeutic area knowledge and expertise.

• Successful track-record of building and maintaining strong internal and external 

relationships 

• Experience in strategic and operational planning.

• Exceptional research and analytical skills.

conclusions and insights.
