The Position

The Group Product Manager (GPM) of Interactive Marketing for Managed Care & Customer Operations (MCCO) is a newly created position that is responsible for the management of two individual contributors within Interactive Marketing and will report into the Associate Director of Portfolio Interactive Marketing.  These critical positions will leverage the Interactive Marketing department’s experience in strategy, execution, innovation and agency management to help support the MCCO department’s growing digital marketing needs.  Current responsibilities include:
  • Development and execution of digital strategies for key MCCO audiences including patients, physicians, payers, employer groups, hospital and practice staff and specialty pharmacies.  These include current important websites such as Genentech-Access.com and Genentech-Forum.com.
  • Collaborating with various internal partners including several teams across MCCO, brand marketing, field teams, market analytics and insights, commercial training, and other Interactive Marketing teams including iSales and eMarketing, to ensure successful alignment of programs and strategies against key MCCO business objectives.

  • Developing a clear value proposition and 3 year plan/vision for the team
  • Contributing to a culture of innovation, best practice sharing, and continued education
  • Ensuring accuracy in IM Portfolio budget development and forecasting
  • Ensuring the IM Portfolio Marketing team acts within compliance of all laws, regulations and policies that govern the conduct of GNE activities.
  • Participating in defining the business unit objectives, timelines, budgets, human resources matters and allocation of resources.
  • Contributing to a culture of innovation, best practice sharing, and continued education

  • Bachelors Degree
  • MBA or other related graduate-level degree is preferred
  • Impeccable ethics and integrity
  • 7-10 years relevant previous work experience
  • Minimum of 4 years previous work experience in digital marketing or in product/brand marketing that included oversight of digital strategy and execution.
  • Minimum of 2 years previous work experience in Managed Care/Managed Markets marketing, operations, or customer support
  • A strong developer of people with skills in evaluating talent and coaching performance.
  • Preference will be given to individuals with prior people management experience
  • Prior experience working in managed care preferred
  • Demonstrable track record of creating innovative marketing strategies for products in the pharmaceutical, biotech, or other related industries
  • Outstanding communication and presentation skills. Experience and success meeting and presenting to Senior/Executive Management (AD level and above) both to educate and sell-through relevant ideas. Proven ability to develop alliances and relationships that contribute to the department's success.
  • Demonstrated experience creating a vision and strategic plans that influence portfolio-wide initiatives.
  • Experience planning, negotiating and allocating annual tactical and budget planning resources, including headcount and outside spend.  Budget management experience in excess of $3MM
  • Strong customer orientation and focus
  • Ability to identify specific areas for change, efficiency and innovation, including those that challenge the status quo. Ability to transform ideas into action and implement this change successfully by leveraging best practices in change management.
  • Ability, comfort and commitment in/to operating in a highly regulated environment and industry, which requires understanding of the imperative for compliance with company policies, procedures and other relevant internal or external laws, regulations and the like
