Ofgem Graduate Development Programme

The Ofgem Graduate Development Programme (OGDP) is designed to provide our graduate recruits with  the opportunity to gain a breadth of knowledge about our organisation. It also offers the chance to work on some high profile projects.
During the Programme’s 18-month fixed term contract, the recruits work in many of our major divisions and enjoy access to some of the most senior and experienced professionals in the regulatory field.
The Programme represents an exciting career opportunity. At the end of the fixed-term period, our graduate recruits may be offered a permanent position dependent on their performance and the availability of a suitable position.

Approach

Our graduate recruits gain work experience in our various divisions on a rotational basis. Each rotation includes the opportunity to work with a dedicated team engaged on a particular project or piece of policy work, often at the highest level. Each graduate will have access to a line manager and mentor during this period.
In addition to carrying out their work responsibilities, our graduate recruits will be able to access a varied training programme. This includes modules on presentation skills and project management in addition to an introduction to our management development programme.
For training in the regulation of energy utilities, our graduates undertake a residential course in Italy at the Florence School of Regulation.
