Our mission is to advance the cause of “Education for all”, especially primary education for vulnerable populations whose fundamental right to education is not respected or is in jeopardy and to enable them to choose their future freely.
AEA started working in Southeast Asia in 2003, first in Cambodia and later scaling its programming operations to Vietnam, Laos and China through both partnerships and direct implementation with local stakeholders (NGOs, governments, communities). For the past 13 years, mmore than 572 thousand children have been directly and indirectly impacted through our programmes.
AEA South East Asia and China (SEAC) focuses on 4 areas Early Childhood Care and Education, Access and Quality Education, Inclusive Education, Migration, Girls and Women Education and Livelihood Education.
II. POSITION BACKGROUND
The Grant Management and Project Development Intern will support and report directly to the Resource Mobilization and Communication team in the delivery of specific tasks. Tasks are classified under the following:project development, fundraising and communication.
This position offers the opportunity to engage with and learn from AEA Cambodia and AEA SEAC Regional team on a variety of issues and projects. The Intern will also have the possibility to go for field visits with AEA Cambodia team.
III. MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
The Grant Management and Project Development Intern will work with the regional team based in Phnom Penh on the delivery of specific tasks.
This work includes the following activities:
- Support regional office by carrying out relevant research related to projects for AEA Southeast SEAC countries in the respective thematic areas.
- Support regional team with project development tasks.
- Contribute to the mapping of grants, corporate funding and updating donor records, including corporate social responsibility initiatives and foundations with interest in AEA SEAC region.
- Research new grant & fundraising opportunities (foundations, corporate and institutional).
- Follow up on specific dossiers with donors.
- Participate in the design of marketing tools for corporations (flyers, presentations, mailings, etc.). Support the production of mailing and electronic outreach.
- When necessary, help with the translation of key documents.
- Participate in conference calls, meetings and prepare minutes.
- Regularly generate news, online content and innovative communication tools for AEA to increase its visibility on social network and website.
- Help with general administrative work and other tasks as requested.
IV. PROFILE REQUIREMENTS
- Studies related to Humanities or Political Sciences or Communication and/or other relevant fields.
- Fluent in English, with excellent writing skills.
- Excellent Communication and networking skills.
- Interest in international development is a plus.
- Good understanding of the Southeast Asia region and the Education sector in these countries will be an advantage.
- Autonomous and dynamic.
- Can easily adapt to an international working environment.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint and Excel)

Unpaid position with living stipend available.
