Traineeships - European Endowment for Democracy
Background
The European Endowment for Democracy (EED) is a grant giving organisation that was created to foster and encourage democratisation and deep and sustainable democracy in countries in political transition and in societies struggling for democratisation. It is an independent private law foundation with its seat in Brussels. Its geographic mandate covers the European neighbourhood and beyond.
Traineeships
The EED is launching a call for trainees. During their time at EED, the trainees will assist EED Secretariat staff with technical assistance and operational support.
In particular, EED is looking for a trainee with the following specific expertise for a six-month traineeship starting around September 2016:
1. Grant Reporting Support (Arabic skills required) - Experience in detailed assessment of financial reports, based on understanding of grant-making and monitoring and evaluation. Arabic Language skills required.
2. Financial Operations Assistance – Assistance is required to the financial operations of EED. Knowledge of basic accounting and financial reporting sought. Arabic and Russian Language skills an advantage.
Citizenship of an EU Member State or residency in the European Union is a requirement.

Terms and Salary
Preferred contractual relations with the trainees is a Convention d'immersion professionnelle (a professional immersion agreement under Belgian Law). Expected level of monthly remuneration up to €1,250 net per month.
