Humanitarian Advocate

Natural disasters have dominated media headlines in 2011.
First Queensland was devastated by flood and cyclone. An earthquake followed in Christchurch, New Zealand. Then an earthquake and tsunami in Japan claimed thousands of lives. In all three disaster responses, Save the Children Australia deployed aid workers to ensure the physical and psychological needs of children were met.
We now seek a Humanitarian Advocate to join Save the Children Australia’s highly regarded Emergency Response Team.
This key position will lead the development and implementation of our humanitarian research policy and advocacy strategy to ensure that children’s needs are met and heard in humanitarian emergencies.
We are looking for an exceptional person with extensive experience in humanitarian advocacy. We are looking for someone who shares our vision of a world in which every child attains the right to survival, protection, development and participation.
A full position description can be obtained from the Save the Children website at www.savethechildren.org.au at “Careers with Us”
