Mining Engineer African Barrick Gold

Position Description:

Bulyanhulu Gold Mine is looking to employ an experienced Mining Engineer to provide mine planning, design and scheduling operations for the Alimak Raising and Stoping section. This position reports to the Chief Mine Planning Engineer.

Key Result Areas/Essential Functions
• Prepare a comprehensive 18 months EPS (Earthworks Production Schedule) Alimak schedule based upon the current Life of Mine planning

• Prepare weekly and monthly plans and forecasts to ensure optimal, safe production

• Prepare 6 months rolling forecast of material required to execute the mining plan

• Provide monthly reconciliation reports, month plan versus actual performance

• Planning of mining infrastructure required for operational efficiency, services and mine expansion

• Monitor efficiency of resources, performance and set targets to ensure optimal, safe production

• Train graduate engineers in mine design and engineering in support of the succession plan

Education Requirements

BSc Mining Engineering

Experience Requirements:

• Minimum of 4 years underground mining experience, in a hard rock mining environment, preferably with Alimak production or mine design experience

• Ability to execute project work, evaluate options and write technical reports

• Computer skills: Proficiency in MS Office, Mine2-4D or other 3D mine planning software, EPS and preferably MineCAD
