(Appointments are usually made on the first point of the salary range)

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Academic Services Division as it develops the Library's offering in support of teaching and learning, and research in line with the new University Strategy. You will be leading the team of Academic Support Librarians to build on existing successes and initiate new and distinctive ways of supporting students and academic colleagues with their information needs.

You will be educated to degree level or equivalent and be in possession of a recognised postgraduate qualification in librarianship or information management. You will have relevant experience in an academic or specialist information service setting. A proven track record in successful staff management and team work is essential, as are communication and interpersonal skills. You will be expected to effectively manage yourself, manage others and manage change. A good knowledge of the Higher Education/Library and Information Service environment is needed for both service and personal professional development.
