Assistant Professor in Medical Statistics

Salary in the Range: £36,862 - £44,016 pa

Warwick Medical School (WMS) wishes to appoint an Assistant Professor of Medical Statistics. You will be a key member of a rapidly expanding Statistics and Epidemiology group within the Division of Health Sciences and will work closely with Nigel Stallard, Professor of Medical Statistics, and others in the group to develop a strong programme of personal research in medical statistics. You will also be involved in the appointment and ongoing supervision of a Research Fellow in Medical Statistics.

In addition to the above, you will contribute to research across WMS through participation in multidisciplinary research teams and will be expected to lead and contribute to research grant applications. You will also be expected to contribute to teaching on the MBChB and Masters Programmes of the school and assist in the supervision of research degree students while continuing to strengthen the links between WMS and the Department of Statistics.

As part of the Warwick hub of the West Midlands Research Design Service, you will be responsible for provision of expert statistical design advice to local NHS researchers as well as the support and supervision of more junior advisors.

You will have an excellent track record of published research in medical statistics relevant to research interests of the Division of Health Sciences and will have experience of interdisciplinary collaborative medical or health sciences research.

While the appointment will be made at Assistant Professor Level, there is the opportunity to progress to Associate Professor if probation (usually 5 years) is completed successfully.
