Data Processing Officer CEFIC

Cefic, the European Chemical Industry Council, is both the forum and voice of the European chemical industry. It aims to maintain and develop a prosperous chemical industry in Europe by promoting the best possible economic, social and environmental conditions to bring benefits to society.

Cefic is located in Auderghem and employs more than 160 people.

To replace one of its staff members during her maternity leave (January till July 2012), Cefic is looking for a (M/F):

Data Processing Officer
Responsibilities

  • Handling confidential information; data processing in compliance with competition laws and while respecting statistical secrecy
  • Checking on accuracy and consistency of individual as well as consolidated data
  • Identifying and solving problems in statistical input
  • Observing deadlines and defining priorities
  • Setting up questionnaires and working files in Excel
  • Consolidating collected data according to statistical rules
  • Attending meetings, presenting analytical reports and answering members’ questions
  • Reporting possible problems (timeframe, guidelines, balance, …) and proposing solutions
  • Providing advice and support to managers and members in the statistics area

Background and experience

  • Minimum bachelor’s degree, preferably in a figures-related discipline
  • Previous working experience with figures is an important asset

Skills & competencies

  • Very good knowledge of Excel (a must) and other MS tools (Powerpoint, Access, VBA,…)
  • Excellent level of English, written and spoken. Knowledge of other languages is an asset
  • Outstanding accuracy and passion for conscientious work
  • Strong analytical and numerate skills
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Team-player and ability to work independently
  • Curious, fast learning and willing to improve continuously
