The Arab Spring has generated new possibilities for the Middle East. At Oxfam, we’re determined to seize the opportunity this presents. In this high-profile role, you’ll push our agenda of ending poverty and injustice. Working with a variety of stakeholders, you’ll place pressure on the Arab League and other government institutions to end poverty and preventable suffering across the region.

The role You will work with governments, the Arab League and other key institutions to champion the Oxfam agenda. It’s a role that will see you both lobbying and maintaining our network of contacts. By strengthening our relationships with government, the media, NGOs and other key actors, you’ll both represent the organisation and extend our influence on conflict, humanitarianism and security issues. At the same time, you’ll also spend time researching and developing our knowledge base for the region. This will see you producing both analytical reports and strategic briefs on key issues and institutions.

What we’re looking for Confident and capable, you will have an extensive track record of public policy analysis and advocacy in the Middle East. This will be coupled with a real commitment to fighting poverty and injustice, and promoting basic rights in the region. Having worked with the institutions in the region, you’ll know how to negotiate effectively with key decision-makers. Fluent in English and Arabic, you’ll also know how to build inter-agency coalitions in the political arena.
