Oxfam GB is seeking a new Head of Development Finance and Public Services Team within the Policy and Advocacy Team. This is a critical post leading our global and national public and advocacy work on development finance and public services. The development finance focus is on aid quantity and quality, taxation, innovative finance, and the public services work is focused on health and education, especially privatisation, access to medicines and free services. The team focuses on policy work to achieve national change in developing countries, as well as global influencing. The team also leads Oxfam's work on the G20, World Bank and IMF, the MDGs, and on inequality.

You will work closely with other colleagues in the Policy and Advocacy Team, the Programme Policy and Media teams. You will play a key part in the Essential Services/For All campaign team (both Oxfam GB and Oxfam International). The Essential Services 'For All' campaign is one of three global campaigns pursued by Oxfam International. This campaign has grown significantly in recent years, and has been behind successful campaigns such as the campaign for a Robin Hood Tax and the fight to remove health user fees. You will have a strong link to advocacy and campaigning by Oxfam and allies in developing countries. You will play a leading role in Oxfam's global work as a key figure in Oxfam International.

You will need to have excellent policy analysis skills and experience, substantial advocacy experience, and strong media and communication skills. You will have experience of lobbying and campaigning in developing country contexts. You will have strong power analysis, political knowledge and understanding, and a clear ability to strategise around political opportunities for change. You will be an effective and strategic lobbyist. You will be a dynamic leader with proven experience of managing staff and planning processes and with clear strengths in team work and collaborative processes.
