Gender Justice Programme Lead Oxfam Indonesia

The role

In this role you’ll have a country focus. Most importantly you’ll lead and facilitate the development of a coherent gender justice programme including specific initiatives to ensure women’s empowerment is mainstreamed and resourced across all programs areas. You’ll work closely with the Country Director to decide on country priorities and work plans and deliver effective support to the Indonesia programme. You will also lead a gender review and develop mechanisms to actively share learning. This means developing a network of resources as chair of Oxfam Indonesia gender justice working group and take on the role of gender justice representative in senior management meetings. You will proactively seek technical support from external agencies and also within Oxfam to improve programme delivery, quality, learning and innovation. You will supervise the work of two gender justice staff, monitoring evaluation learning and partnership coordinators. The aim overall is to improve skills, build capacity and competencies and facilitate learning in order to steer and lead the implementation and development of Oxfam’s joint gender justice programme and embed them in the Indonesia Country Programme.

The requirements

You’ll need to bring substantial experience of working on gender justice issues in the context of the Indonesia Country Programme. You’ll have extensive professional networks with Indonesian gender justice activists and knowledge of CSO, government and donor development agenda’s and priorities in relation to gender justice. Whilst fully committed to women’s rights you’re also up-to-date with current gender thinking and practice and experienced in designing and leading on capacity building at operational level. Proven relationship management skills, together with cultural sensitivity, gained from working in the country, are important requirements. Fluency in written and spoken English is essential.
