preparation and implementation of MNP program in Aileu district.

Purpose of Assignment:
Under direct supervision of the Nutrition Specialist, the consultant will take the lead in the preparation and implementation of MNP program in Aileu district.

Work Assignments and work schedule: Deliverables/End Product (s) and Time Frame Develop training materials and manual
•Review draft of training manual and materials •Finalize training manual and materials •Assist with printing of training manuals and materials •Training manual and materials are ready for training

Conduct orientation, technical training, and organize launching of MNP program
•Prepare orientation meeting in coordination with nutrition department of MoH, DPHO, DHS of Aileu district • Prepare documentation/report of orientation training activities and recommendations for improvement • Prepare and facilitate technical training in coordination with nutrition department of MoH, DPHO, DPS of Aileu district • Prepare documentation/report of technical training • Prepare launching MNP in Aileu district • Orientation meeting is conducted and report is submitted • Technical training is conducted and report is submitted • Launching of MNP is conducted and documented

Develop IEC materials • Work with communication section to develop leaflet on the benefits of MNP and how to distribute and use MNP
• IEC materials developed Monitoring and supervision
• Develop monitoring tool for implementation of MNP • Conduct field visit for supervision & monitor program implementation • Develop monthly report • Develop final report of consultancy with recommendations to improve program implementation • Monitoring tool is developed • Report(s) of field supervision are submitted • Monthly report submitted • Final report of consultancy submitted

Estimated Duration of Assignment: 6 months.

Qualifications or Specialized Knowledge /Experience Required • At least 5 years of experience in the field of research, program implementation, review and monitoring of public health programmes, in particular in the field of Nutrition; • Experience in public health programme as well as developing IEC materials, monitoring tools and producing good quality program reports; • Experience of working with government, NGOs, Development Partners and UN agencies; • Experienced and skilled staff on public health programme monitoring and evaluation (M&E) and research; • Knowledge and experience working on Nutrition and child health programmes, such as micronutrient and especially micronutrient powder (MNP) is preferred. • Working experience in Timor-Leste is an asset. • Fluent in English (written and spoken) and working language of Portuguese, Tetum or Indonesian.
