CORPORATE SUPPORT: HEAD OFFICE
The generic minimum requirements applicable to the posts, except where it is specified differently, are as follows:
• Competency in the post-specific core functions • A minimum of two years' experience in the field of the advertised post • Fluency in at least two of the official languages, of which one must be English • A Grade 12/Senior Certificate or equivalent N4 qualification.


Section Commander : Financial and Administration Services (Colonel) (Police Act )
Salary level: R495 815 per annum (MMS Band) (all-inclusive remuneration package)

Additional requirements: • Relevant NQF 6 in the field of the post as well as three (3) years' experience in the field of the post or, alternatively, a Grade 12 (Senior Certificate) or equivalent NQF 4 with 5 years' experience in the field of the post • Two (2) years' managerial experience and a valid driver’s licence.


Core functions: • Manage and control the budget and the monitoring of standards, policies and directives • Manage and control all financial expenditure • Manage and control the financial authorisations and commitments process, on the POLFIN system, for all areas of responsibility • Manage and co-ordinate the loading of budget allocation according to the approved Organisational Structures and shifting of funds as necessary/requested, per SCOA item per programme • Manage and control all bookkeeping aspects • Manage and co-ordinate the regulation, receipt and flow of documents • Manage and co-ordinate the reporting of Access to Information • Manage and co-ordinate the reporting of losses • Manage and control the Human and Physical Resources of the Sub-section.

The post particulars and reference number of the post must be correctly specified on the application form • A comprehensive Curriculum Vitae must be submitted together with the application form • Certified copies of an applicant's Identity Document, motor vehicle driver's licence (Police Act appointments), all educational qualifications obtained and service certificates of previous employers, stating the occupation, must also be submitted and attached to every application • All qualifications and driver’s licences submitted will be subjected to verification checking with the relevant institutions. The South African Police Service will verify the residential address of applicants and conduct reference checking • Short-listed candidates for appointment to certain identified posts will be vetted in terms of the Criminal Law (Sexual Offences and Related Matters) Amendment Act, 2007 (Act No 32 of 2007) and the Children’s Act, 2005 (Act No 38 of 2005). A candidate whose particulars appear in either the National Register for Sex Offenders or Part B of the Child Protection Register will be disqualified from appointment to that post • Applicants will be subjected to a medical examination at the expense of the SAPS (only Police Act appointments) • Persons who retired from the Public Service by taking a severance package, early retirement or for medical reasons, as well as persons with previous convictions, are excluded • Applications must be mailed timeously.
