The University of the South Pacific’s School of Education, the largest and premier teacher-education institute in the South Pacific, seeks a senior lecturer or lecturer in its Early Childhood Education section to teach at the diploma, undergraduate and postgraduate degree levels. The appointee will be required to review the existing ECE courses and programs and teach them employing face-to-face, online and DFL modes of delivery. Moreover, the appointee will also be required to conduct relevant research and consultancy, and provide the necessary leadership to move ECE forward. The candidate will head the ECE section and work closely with the Head of School, the Dean and early childhood centres in the Pacific Island nations.

Applicants must have a PhD in Early Childhood Education, a strong research and publications record and extensive teaching experience at the tertiary level as well as at the ECE centres. Preference will be given to applicants with experience in teaching via DFL modes including online. Experience in teamwork, and working with multiethnic students and staff, and the Pacific Island context will be an advantage. Applicants are also expected to possess computer skills and online teaching.

The position is available for a fixed term of two and a half years.

Salary Range: Senior Lecturer F$74,995 to F$86,533 per annum
Lecturer F$59,813 to F$78,700 per annum
(Inclusive of 15% Gratuity)

In addition to the above benefits, the University contributes 10% of basic salary to an approved superannuation scheme, provides airfare and relocation costs where appropriate.
