Who are we?

Oxfam GB is a leading aid, development, and campaigning charity with a worldwide reputation for excellence and over 60 years of experience. Our purpose is to work with others to overcome suffering and find lasting solutions to poverty.

We have recently brought together our South and East Asia regions to form a single new region: Oxfam GB Asia, with its Regional Centre in Bangkok. This is a fantastic opportunity to become part of the senior leadership team of this new, dynamic region.

The role

This senior management role is responsible for driving programme strategy and quality across the Asia region. Through strong leadership, rooted in an in-depth understanding of programmes, you will work closely with, and as part of, the Regional Management Team and Country Directors to support the delivery of high quality and impactful country programmes. You will directly manage Country Directors in Thailand, Myanmar, Indonesia, Philippines, Vietnam and Cambodia. Reporting to the Regional Director, you will be critical to shaping and defining the long term vision for the Asia region, working with others to create an environment which celebrates innovation, delivers new funding opportunities and strengthens Oxfam internal systems.

The requirements

To meet the challenge, you’ll need leadership experience in a similarly complex and dispersed organisation. Solid financial and people management skills are clearly essential as is a wide range of programme development and implementation experience at senior levels. Just as important will be your excellent all-level communication, interpersonal and influencing skills. You’ll be pro-active with a results-focused approach. Experience of working in Asia is crucial, especially within East Asia in particular.

As an organisation Oxfam is committed to gender equity and putting women’s rights at the heart of all we do.
