Vice President, Treasurer New York University

New York University seeks a Vice President, Treasurer who will serve as a core member of the Chief Financial Officer's team and will act as a key strategic partner to the University on all treasury-related matters. This position offers a unique opportunity for an experienced, senior level finance professional to participate in the advancement of NYU's ambitious and exciting global future. Reporting to the CFO, the VP, Treasurer is responsible for strategy, policy development and deployment in the areas of cash management, debt management, insurance and risk management, real estate, and asset management. Key responsibilities include but are not limited to: evaluating and recommending financing arrangements and capital structure; acting as lead University interface with banks and financial service companies; evaluating and monitoring cash management policies; providing day to day oversight of the University's real estate portfolio; overseeing the University's risk management and insurance portfolio; participating in the development and execution of capital budgets; participating as a member of the senior Finance leadership team; providing support to Trustee Committees; and other duties and projects as assigned by the Chief Financial Officer. The VP, Treasurer will directly supervise a team of five, providing strong leadership and ensuring that day to day responsibilities of the Office of the Treasurer are effectively discharged.

Qualifications: Undergraduate degree in Finance or Business plus an MBA or advanced degree in Finance or related field. Minimum 15 years experience providing financial leadership in a large, complex, decentralized organization. Significant exposure to banking relationships, cash management, strategic planning, risk management. Domestic and international finance experience. Knowledge of capital markets, including investment strategy, asset and liability management, debt financing strategies and institutional cash management required. Excellent administrative, organizational, oral communication, writing and presentation skills. Demonstrated ability to lead strategically, with vision, energy and passion. Distinct appreciation for the mission, traditions and culture of the University. A persistent and persuasive approach to challenges and people, and an ability to work in environments with ambiguity and uncertainty. Unquestioned ethics and commitment to exceptional quality. Experience in higher education is highly desirable.

Compensation and Location: Compensation will be both competitive and commensurate with the successful candidate's experience. The position will be based in New York City.
