Requirements: • Registered Pharmacist with the South African Pharmacy Council • At least 3 years’ experience working in hospital institutional pharmacies and be familiar with all Departmental Policies regarding tendering and procurement, cold chain storage, and distribution of all pharmaceuticals • Knowledge of and experience in policy development, strategic planning, financial management, contract and project management, programme development and monitoring & evaluation • Valid driver’s licence • Understanding of the Expanded Programme on Immunisation and related policies in vaccine and cold chain management • Strategic leadership qualities • Computer literacy in Word and Excel • Numeric literacy is of vital importance • Good verbal and written communication and people skills • Valid driver’s licence.



Duties: • Draw up and set policy for cold chain operations management provincially (in conjunction with National Cold Chain Operations Managers) • Assist where necessary with the formal training and in-service training of personnel involved in the cold chain management • Coordinate the estimates, ordering and logistics for any mass immunisation campaigns organised, and liaise with the procurement section on this information • Provide technical support to district teams, monitor and evaluate the stock levels, order and distribute products, and collect relevant data for statistical purposes • Liaise closely with and give support to the EPI Manager and team provincially • Ensure that all relevant updated cold chain information is available to the National Cold Chain Operations Manager and EPI Manager.
