In-country International Project Coordinator – Kathmandu, Nepal – 6 months contract – DFID funded Enabling State Programme

In December 2010, DFID contracted GRM to manage the Enabling State Programme (ESP), which was launched in January 2001 against a backdrop of conflict and unstable democracy. Since then it has proven to be an adaptable and effective instrument for supporting governance reform, social and political inclusion and peace- and state-building in Nepal. GRM is contracted to manage ESP till December 2012.

As the remaining life of ESP is very short and that there is a challenge to deliver results on programmes as well as to ensure system and procedures are appropriately applied to support effective implementation, GRM is looking to appoint an International Programme Coordinator (IPC) with experience of project management to help support effective implementation by supporting to strengthen the application of GRM introduced systems and procedures within ESP.

The position will report to the ESP Team Leader and GRM Project Manager.

To succeed in this role, you will have demonstrated:

Ability to engage with a range of stakeholders in a development context Superior financial acumen and communication skills Minimum 5 years experience in:     project management for donor funded programs, including DFID in a developing country context;     donor funded grants cycle management working with NGOs and Civil Society Organizations     financial management and/or accounting     coaching and mentoring local staff
