Operations Engineer United States
GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION
Responsibilities include: The successful candidate will look for opportunities to improve safety, efficiency and productivity in all areas of the mining operation and work with department general supervisors to develop technical solutions and implement action plans. Liaise between technical, training and operating departments for full implementation of mine and maintenance plan. Manage equipment and contract acquisitions, including AFE preparation and scope of work, and contract management. Perform other related duties incidental to formulate a successful organization. Other duties as assigned.
SELECTION CRITERIA
BASIC REQUIREMENTS: To be considered for this job, applicants must meet these basic requirements:
• Bachelors of Science in Mine Engineering, Civil Engineering or related field required
• Eight (8) years experience in the mining industry required
• Strong computer skills and knowledge of MS Office applications required
• Knowledge of databases, spreadsheet programs, tracking tools, analytical problem solving and negotiation skills preferred
• Ability to work with minimal supervision, handle confidential information, manage timelines and deliver results in a timely manner required
• Excellent oral and written communication skills required
